"Watching her lie there near the edge of my bed, hair all wild and unruly makes me wonder if she thinks as many sad thoughts as I do. She is beautiful down to the very essence of herself and, right now, all I can pray is that she isn’t as sad as me because I have sold my soul ten times over for the sake of a few pretty words and I’ll build and break myself without an afterthought if I think it’ll bring me some solace. People like me are born sad and it’s a sadness that never truly dies so, looking at her now, I hope to whatever god we may have that she’s alright.
